TARGET® Precast and Pipe Patch is a blend of special cements, silica sand and admixtures designed for patching of concrete. Target Precast and Pipe Patch sets fast and achieves rapid strength gain while requiring only potable water for mixing with excellent freeze thaw resistance and develops a tenacious bond.

USES
TARGET Precast and Pipe Patch is designed for use as a repair material for cast-in-place or precast concrete where rapid set and strength gain of the repair are required. Typical applications include:

  • Sidewalks and curbs
  • Repair of Tilt-up structures
  • Foundations
  • Balconies
  • Concrete floors
  • Precast pipes, Manholes and Parking Curbs.

SETTING TIME
When mixed with water to give a workable mix at 18 °C to 21 °C (65 °F to 70 °F), Precast and Pipe Patch will remain workable for about 10 minutes and be fully set in 20 to 40 minutes depending upon the amount of water. Variations in mix temperature or the amount of water used will cause variations in setting times and the rate of strength gain. 

PROCEDURES
Thoroughly clean the surfaces to be patched, ensuring that all dust, laitance, oil and other contaminants are removed. Mechanical roughening of concrete is advisable. Bring the concrete to a saturated surface dry condition before applying TARGET Precast and Pipe Patch.


Mix TARGET Precast and Pipe Patch with clean potable water by adding the powder to the water and using a high shear mixer. The amount of water required per 25 kg (55 lb) bag will vary between 4 Lt. (1 US gals) and 5.75 Lt. (1.5 U.S. gals). Moist curing of the patch is desirable, but not normally essential, except under hot or very dry conditions.

YIELD
Yield will vary with the amount of water added. At maximum water addition one 25 kg (55 lb) bag will yield approximately 0.52 cubic feet or 2.3 square meters (25 square feet) at 6 mm (1/4 inch) thickness.

LIMITATIONS

  • Do not add more water to the mix after it has started to thicken or set.
  • Do not install when the temperature is less than 3 °C (38 °F).
  • To fill patches greater than 2 inches (5.1 cm), add clean, saturated surface dry, 3/8 (.96 cm) nominal pea gravel to Target Precast and Pipe Patch.

CAUTION
Contains Portland cement. Avoid contact with eyes or prolonged contact with skin. Protect hands with waterproof gloves. In case of contact, flush thoroughly with water. For eyes, continue flushing for 15 minutes and get medical attention. Keep out of the reach of children.
